Merle Brock, wife of our former State Rep, Bill Brock, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening @ 6:45, due to complications from Gilliam Barre syndrome.  Friends and family had been able to be with her in the last hours, and family were able to sing hymns together just prior to her passing into the Lord’s presence.  Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 13, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Tidd Funeral Home, 5275 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio, (614) 876-1722.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm (Aug. 14) at Maranatha Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio – 4663 Trabue Rd.  Thank you for your prayers for Merle’s adult children and their families.

Thank you also for your prayers and desire for updates about Jim Fales, the gentleman from Albany Baptist, who suffered a stroke while on a mission trip to Romania with his wife and other members of his church.  Jim never regained consciousness but was med-flighted home to Athens on August 2 and went home to be with the Lord on August 3.  Thank you for prayers for his wife, Sharon, and their adult children.

Pray for the family of secretary, Becky Durbin, from Mount Vernon, Ohio.  Her brother, Phil, was electrocuted in a freak accident while at work in Johnstown, Ohio, this past week, when his truck bed touched high-voltage wires.  He leaves behind his wife and two boys, ages 9 and 3.  Please pray for Becky and the family during these days.

Continue to pray for Marcia Elmore, retired pastor’s wife.  Marcia continues on dialysis since her kidneys quit working as a result of Goodpasture’s Syndrome.  She is gaining strength and may discontinue the plasma exchange in this next week.  You may encourage her through her website, prayformarcia.com   Continue to pray for husband, David, his mom, Marabeth, and their families.

Thank you for your prayers for us while ministering at Gitche Gumee Bible Camp, in Upper Michigan, this past week.  It was a privilege to minister alongside our son, David, who presented his inner city ministry in Denver, and to enjoy this ministry with our other children and grandchildren who also were able to be there.
