Prayer Requests:
Our associate pastor, Dan Rase, from Temple Baptist, Portsmouth, suffered a fatal heart attack about 4 am this morning. Dan was only 43 years old. Please pray for his wife, Joyce, and their young daughter, Kaylee (sp) and his mom and dad, as well as their church and youth group. The funeral service was scheduled for Friday, March 21.
Continue to pray for Brad Quick, senior pastor, First Baptist, Elyria. Brad had surgery to remove part of his scalp affected by the melanoma. He is waiting for test results to find whether a lymph node in the scalp has cancer cells. If so, this would require more treatment. If no cancer is found, he will then have skin grafts. Pray for Brad and Debbie as they wait.
Ken Pugh, senior pastor at First Baptist, Louisville. Ken is undergoing surgery today, March 12, to remove a kidney stone.
Larry Jack, associate pastor working with youth, at First Baptist in Louisville. Larry recently fell at Sky View Ranch and broke an ankle in three places.
Jim Koerber, pastor at First Baptist, Blanchester, is scheduled for Gall Bladder surgery next Monday, March 16. He plans to have this surgery on Monday and be back in the pulpit the following Sunday.
Update on David Hixson, pastor at Calvary Baptist, Sandusky, from his wife Faith:
Thanks for your prayers for our visit to the doctor in Detroit today. David's cancer is in very early stages and the doctor believes removal of the prostate will cure the problem. That's very encouraging, of course. Other treatment options remain to be investigated, but we're strongly leaning toward surgery. Please continue to pray for us to have wisdom and the skill of the surgeon to remove all the cancer if we go the surgery route. Thank you for your love and prayers,
Mary Davisson, pastor's wife at Canal Fulton has one more chemo treatment and then begins a series of radiation. Pray for healing and strength to endure.
